But, accounting for women of all different groups, Clinton has a clear advantage.

The Democratic fight Thursday night came at a pivotal moment in the party’s primary campaign, with Clinton leading in the delegate count but Sanders generating huge enthusiasm for his surprising candidacy.

Clinton’s new position that she would support a New York-style graduated increase nationally if approved by Congress is less bold and less clear-cut than his, Sanders suggested.

Polls show Clinton leading by double digits in the state she represented in the Senate. “He kept his word to the NRA”, she said. Others said they support the former secretary of state because of her experience and intelligence.

But Hillary Clinton deserves to be considered on her own formidable record.

“She has, at the beginning of this campaign, said we need a $12 minimum wage”. “That’s one of my biggest issues, especially the minimum wage in SC”. He’s advocated strongly for a transition away from fossil fuels to clean energy, and co-sponsored legislation to, among other things, prohibit new leases for exploration and production in the offshore Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific oceans and the Gulf of Mexico. “Describing the problem is a lot easier than trying to solve it”, she said.

Why do women like Clinton? “You could say Donald sometimes, but Bernie Sanders is clearly the most”, Klein said Friday on “The Steve Malzberg Show”. President Bill Clinton carried the state twice, she beat Obama by 10 points in the 2008 primary in Pennsylvania, her father is from the state and she has well-established relationships with state party leaders and national fundraisers in Philadelphia, Madonna said.

Sanders responded sarcastically: “Secretary Clinton called them out – oh, they must be really crushed by this”.

“There’s no comparison. In fact, if you even look at all the candidates, even the Republican candidates, who’s the most fun?”

Asked on CNN Sunday whether Clooney was siding with the wrong candidate, Sanders replied, “I think he is”.

For some older voters, gender is more central. “She understood it, she understood the issue”. “He can say whatever he want to say about me”.

She concluded her day on the Republican stronghold of Staten Island, where she touted bipartisanship and rallied a crowd of 500, questioning whether Sanders’ role in the effort to revamp health care in the 1990s. But, in the 2016 campaign, she often discusses women on the stump, as she did Tuesday on a panel about pay equity organized by Glassdoor, a company that collects data on employee salaries.
