Jurgen Klopp said Daniel Sturridge provided the ideal response to being dropped after starring on his return to the first team in Liverpool’s 2-1 win at Bournemouth.
Only Firmino started both games with the Liverpool manager handing a debut to Danny Ward, the young Wales goalkeeper, and naming youngsters Connor Randall, Brad Smith, Kevin Stewart and Sheyi Ojo in his starting eleven.
“Bournemouth had a lot of bad injuries and I really like the way they handled the situation”.
The Reds recorded their third consecutive wins by beating AFC Bournemouth 2-1 and Sturridge’s headed claimed all three points. He really is in really good shape.
It would allow us to focus on the league properly, giving a good fight in order to make the top four. One player can win a game? Each player had influence. I understand this as a team game.
With a haul of 41 points from their 33 games, Bournemouth have virtually secured their Premier League status for the 2016/17 season.
‘Absolutely not. Only a few young players can come up, and sometimes they are in the squad, sometimes not. That’s not the role I like.
If you find yourself in a position to ask Jürgen Klopp a question, don’t ask him one like this.
“There are big games coming up for the football club against some of the bigger names in the division, so we want to do ourselves proud”.
Eddie Howe: “They are a strong side and he is imprinting his ideas on them, you can see that with the way they press and work”.
‘When Jurgen took over at Dortmund in his first close season he let 17 players go and brought 12 in. First Firmino with his 10th goal of the season. We live on different planets. “We failed to put them under enough pressure”, he said.
The Cherries did mount a comeback in the second half, putting in effort and having their best spell of the game.
Liverpool have scored 15 goals in their last 5 away games while Bournemouth have conceded 11 in their last 5 at home.
