Chevy Chase is Clark Griswold again in this nostalgia-filled teaser for
Ed Helms stars as an all grown up Rusty Griswold, who carries on the Griswold tradition of unnecessarily taking his family on a cross country vacation to Walley World, in order to bring his family together, just like in the first film.

Christina Applegate, Leslie Mann, Nick Kroll, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Regina Hall all co-star in Vacation, which opens July 29. So we were all just really freaked out by that.

In the movie, Chevy Chase plays Rusty Griswold’s father Clark Griswold. The Truckster does make a repeat appearance in the new film, late in the movie, but the main automotive “star” is the Tartan Prancer, a custom-made royal blue SUV-ish vehicle featuring an identical front and back and a key fob with the craziest choices of buttons. “And I do mean an very bad lot of time”.

“That scene with the underwear sight gag, I think people look at that and kind of quickly assume, “Oh it’s amusing because of the underwear sight gag.’ But it’s not, that’s not why it’s amusing. “You’re like, ‘we’re going to Walley World” and then people laugh at you and you’re like, ‘but, it’s different!'”. “But how he worked that scene so completely was brilliant, and that’s why it was so hilarious from the moment he walked into our bedroom, until he flaunted his way out the door again”.
