Bernie Sanders fed up with Clinton campaign’s ‘negativity’
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and his wife paid $27,653 in federal income taxes in 2014, an effective federal tax rate of 13.5 percent, according to their tax return released on Friday by his campaign. After the San Francisco event, Clinton and the Clooneys will travel to Los Angeles, where the actor will host guests at his Studio City home for another fundraiser on Saturday night. However, simply winning the polls doesn’t get you all the delegates. As of now, nearly all of New York’s are backing Clinton.
The 68-year-old Clinton whizzed through America’s largest city to appear in upper Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx and set to finish with an LGBT event in Manhattan’s West Village. Aggregate data from Real Clear Politics indicate Clinton has a decisive edge over Sanders, but he has gained on the party front-runner since March, and his camp is pinning their collective hopes upon the momentum gained from previous victories. Kasich already is looking past New York: He’ll spend Tuesday night at a town hall-style meeting in Maryland, which also votes next week.
Speaking on CBS’ Face The Nation, Mr Sanders was asked about the increasingly negative tone of the Democratic presidential race to which he responded, “They’ve gone after us in every single area, in a way that just misrepresents my views”. “Only in January did I start to get active”, said Kelemen.
Sanders, fresh from a visit to the Vatican, where he briefly met Pope Francis, is to address a giant rally in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. “That is defeating whoever the Republicans put up”, she added.
Sanders also had some words for Donald Trump, “Donald Trump will not be elected president of the United States because the American people will not support a candidate who insults Mexicans and Latinos, who insults Muslims, who insults women, who insults veterans who insults the African-American community”.
The Texas senator has cast himself as more electable than Republican rival Donald Trump, in part because of organizational advantages in the complicated and tedious process of collecting delegates heading into the summer national convention.
The right-wing evangelical now has 553 delegates against 758 for Trump, according to CNN. “I’ve known her, I respect her, but I have been disappointed in the kinds of attacks her campaign has levied against me”, Sanders said of Clinton.

Sanders has ripped into Clinton’s ties to Wall Street and his call for campaign finance reform is a cornerstone of his campaign, which has galvanized young voters across the country.
