Prince William and Catherine hike to mountain monastery in Bhutan

Middleton wore a pair of skinny jeans, a white button-down shirt, a vest and Penelope Chilvers brown leather tassel boots, which retail for £475 – or about $674 at the current exchange rate.

They listened to a guide tell the history and legends surrounding Buddhism’s most sacred monastery complex in Bhutan, built in 1692 at an altitude of 3,000 meters (10,000 feet). The couple managed the climb in less than three hours and enjoyed a private tour of the monastery. And by the looks of it, they are very much in love. After completing the trek, Prince William said, “It was quite tough on the way up and was unbelievable”.

William and Kate were left overawed by the mountain ranges around them and the Duke described the scenery as “amazing” and “beautiful”. “It’s really important when you come on a trip like this to see some of that”.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were photographed taking the five-hour hike to the top of a mountain to a monastery.

When asked how William felt about that, Nic said: “Devastated”.

The reason for the length of time needed to create a similar skirt is due to the fact that they are made by hand, with no use of machinery. The couple is visiting the Taj Mahal to conclude their royal tour, and are set to give farewell speeches at the famous monument.

Bhutan’s Oxford-educated monarch – known as the Dragon King – greeted the British couple in Bhutanese national dress, which is still required to be worn in schools and the workplace.
