Trump Suffers More Setbacks, Cruz Wins in Delegate Selection

Mr. Trump is likely to add to his lead Tuesday, with polling showing him poised to grab most of the 95 delegates at stake in NY. He spent Monday campaigning in Maryland. He has said he wouldn’t accept the presidential nomination, but others have held out hope that he or another fresh candidate could emerge as the candidate.

Donald Trump’s poll numbers had been sagging lately, and it looked like we were headed for a contested convention. A handful of Trump supporters applied to serve as delegates, saying they were willing to pay thousands of dollars to travel to Cleveland.

Trump leads Cruz among Republicans who don’t have a college education, 45 percent to 38 percent; and among men, 42 percent to 35 percent. “The NDCT provides direct access to Mr. Donald Trump in order to address the concerns of our communities and offer solutions and initiatives that will assist in our common goal of making America great again”.

As of today, ABC News estimates that Clinton has a total of 1,758 delegates and Sanders has a total 1,076 delegates.

National front-runners Trump and Hillary Clinton are the favorites in NY, the state they both call home.

It was a big weekend in Georgia as more than half of the delegates were chosen to make their votes at the Republican National Convention, and some in Donald Trump’s camp were not very happy. Sanders would defeat Cruz with a much larger margin than Clinton: he’d win by 12 points, 52 percent to 40 percent, according to the poll.

If he can win 50 percent in the 27 congressional districts across the state and get 50 percent of the statewide vote, it is possible for Trump to sweep the delegates. He’s spent the past week emphasizing his ties to New York, particularly New York City, where he was born and where buildings bear his name.
