The body will be released only after Pakistani doctors perform the post-mortem at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore on Tuesday morning.Indian High Commission officials will hand over Kirpal’s body to family members for the last rites. A post-mortem examination had been done in Pakistan. Post-mortem of this body has already been done (in Pakistan) because stitches were present on the body and the head.

Ansar Burney Trust stated that Kirpal Singh had gone missing since 1991 from Mustakhbad Saydan village in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district.
Earlier in the day, the family members of Kirpal Singh have complained about the alleged inhuman treatment meted out to him in Pakistan and demanded a fresh post-mortem in India.
Pakistani officials claimed he suffered cardiac arrest.
Kirpal Singh, the family has maintained, had inadvertently crossed into Pakistan and was arrested and charged with spying by Pakistan authorities. 15 members from the familly of Kirpal singh met the current home minister Rajnath singh and he assured them all that his body will brought to India.
The Punjab government has offered to extend all help and relief to Kirpal’s family on the same lines as given to another Indian prisoner, Sarabjit Singh, who was murdered in the same prison in Lahore in April 2013.
“I still believe that Kirpal didn’t die of heart attack, the reason is something else”, she further said, while adding “I have received information from somewhere, about direction given to Lahore jail directing to kill our 11 prisoners”. Kirpal singh captured in jail for 20 years.

Meanwhile, Kirpal’s anguished sister Jagir Kaur said, “Kirpal didn’t die of heart attack”.
