British royals hike to mountain monastery
Britain’s Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are now on a six-day tour of India and Bhutan, and the Duchess of Cambridge has pleasantly surprised the locals with her choice of Asian-inspired attire.

Kate came prepared in heavy knee high boots and a leather waistcoat but looked as if she had barely broken a sweat.
“Mr Suddards had brought his helicopter to the airport when the royal plane landed but he didn’t get the chance to show the royals around as they travelled by vehicle to their hotel instead…’I told him that he missed an opportunity because the dual controls were in the aircraft specially for him in the airport and he could have flown it back to Thimphu'”.
“The prince and princess of England have never visited Bhutan, so, I think it is a great moment for Bhutan”, said Tsering Pem, a resident of the capital, Thimphu, where the 16th-century seat of government was given a fresh coat of paint before the visit.
He added: “They’re in good hands”.
“Halfway, let’s do it, let’s go on”, said William afterwards, wiping sweat off his brow.
The royal couple have spent the last seven days taking in the sights as they travelled around India and Bhutan, including the Taj Mahal and Kaziranga National Park.
Kate said: “We did actually see one family up there with a small child on their front. It’s really important when you come on a trip like this, to see some of that”, William said after the climb.
The couple said they found the walk “easy”. However, Kate Middleton expressed her want to spend more time with Prince George and Princess Charlotte before they assume the post of King and Queen of Britain. And we’re looking forward to seeing them. Although they are both very fit, William admitted the hike up the rocky paths and steep inclines had been challenging. After completing the trek, Prince William said, “It was quite tough on the way up and was incredible”. “With the mountains like this and the temples at the top, it was just stunning to walk up there”.
At the end of their trek Kate, who was dressed down in a white Jaeger shirt and khaki pants and boots, bought some dark blue earrings from a mountain stall for 500 rupees.

In the evening, Their Royal Highnesses attended a reception in Thimpu, which was meant for British nationals in Bhutan, and Bhutanese people with connections with the UK.
