Georgia May Be Following Colorado Path with “Trojan Trump Delegates”

Some Donald Trump supporters say they’re being shut out of the delegate selection around the country for this summer’s convention.

If the RNC doesn’t change that rule, Rubio won’t appear on the ballot.

According to the Post, Cruz’s tightly run and the well-oiled campaign has built up a team dedicated to pursuing the state-by-state process of selecting delegates – assigning each delegate to a dedicated campaign staffer for support.

To get elected as a Minnesota delegate to the Republican National Convention, a candidate must declare which presidential candidate they will represent in balloting – but not which candidate they really support. Only those candidates who receive more than 20 percent of the vote are eligible to receive delegates.

Kyle Babcock, a 3rd District Republican delegate, said he’s been threatened for not supporting Donald Trump.

Trump’s is strongest in the rural areas of the state, from the northeast corner into central Pennsylvania, where he gets 48 percent of the vote compared with 24 percent for Cruz and 20 percent for Kasich.

Now, Carson’s presence on the ballot could actually harm the Trump campaign’s bid to sweep New York’s 95 GOP delegates.

Delegates from the 1st Congressional District include Lake County GOP Chairman and Lake County Councilman Dan Dernulc, Portage Mayor James Snyder and Rebecca Holwerda.

“I feel very good about the campaign we’re running here in NY, but I don’t believe we can stop working”, Clinton told several hundred people gathered at a production studio in Brooklyn. At-large delegates are awarded proportionately for all candidates who receive over 20 percent of the vote with all at-large delegates awarded to a candidate if they break 50 percent.

Brookover told participants in the meeting that Trump was on a “glide path” to nomination and will have enough delegates to avoid a contested convention when the Republicans meet in Cleveland July 18-21. And let’s face it, anyone that high definitely voted for me, so basically I won Colorado.

The Indiana state primary is May 3. Congressional district delegates are submitted by campaigns, though are technically unbound.

But the primary likely won’t result in a big delegate bump for any one candidate, since only the 17 statewide delegates go to the victor, Monmouth University Polling Institute Director Patrick Murray said. Here’s another question Jimmy might ask.
