Crawford came off the bench in 74 of his 79 appearances and averaged 14.2 points and 2.3 assists in 26.9 minutes in all games, helping the Clippers (53-29) post their fourth straight 50-win season. Crawford is the only player to win with multiple teams.

And Crawford had some serious competition for Sixth Man of the Year this season, but still had 51 first place votes (341 points) while Golden State Warriors wing Andre Iguodala had 288 points and Oklahoma City Thunder big man Enes Kanter had 182.

Crawford, 36, became the oldest player to win the award that he also secured during the 2009-10 season with the Atlanta Hawks and the 2013-14 season with the Clippers. Three others in Detlef Schrempf, Ricky Pierce and Kevin McHale have won the award twice. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the award had not yet been announced.

Since Bobby Jones was the first recipient of the award during the 1982-1983 season, there have been many players who have been given the honor.

Even at the ripe age of 36, Crawford still has the handles, the moves and the offensive spark that the Clippers so badly need from their bench. The 2015-16 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford helped steady the ship with Blake Griffin missing 45 games due to injury and suspension. He also won the honor in 2010 and 2014. It will be interesting to see what the new Sixth Man of the Year will do.
