World’s oldest dog dies at age 30, in her sleep
She didn’t have a birth certificate but owner Brian McLaren is convinced she took the title for world’s oldest dog. Metro U.K. reports that McLaren lost Maggie’s original paperwork, so official verification that she was indeed the oldest dog won’t happen anytime soon.

But after curling up in her bed on April 16, the deaf elderly dog fell asleep and never woke up.
The pooch was fine up until the weekend and was padding around the dairy farm growling at cats, McLaren said.
The kelpie, called Maggie, was found dead by her owner Brian McLaren earlier this week on his farm – located near the rural town of Warrnambool in Victoria’s southwest – with McLaren informing the media on Wednesday.
Still, he says, he is pleased his furry friend died peacefully.
“She just went downhill in two days and I said [Sunday] morning when I went home for lunch…”
A four-legged Victorian senior citizen, believed to be the oldest dog in the world, has sadly performed her last trick.
‘We were great mates, it is a bit sad, ‘ he said. Liam is now 34.
Bluey was an Australian cattle-dog who died at 29 years and five months old. Bluey lived from 1910 until 1939.
She would spend half her days sleeping and the other half walking around the farm with Brian where she was the only dog among 30 cats, according to 7 News Perth.

“I’m just sorry that he passed away, and I wish that he would have been able to get into the Guinness Book of World Records”, owner Billy DeRouen said.
