Photo of Kate, Wills evokes 1992 Diana pic

All the press were waiting for William and Kate to pose for photos at the bench that the late Princess Diana famously sat on.

Diana, Princess of Wales’ iconic photo was taken months before she and Prince Charles announced their separation. Within five years, they were divorced; in 1997, she was killed in a Paris auto crash.

After a week of dreamy outfits, activities and more outfits, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made one last dream of ours come true before heading home.

In searing temperatures of 41 degrees Celsius, Prince William and Kate Middleton toured the grounds of the Taj and were given a guided tour of the mausoleum. India’s most famous landmark holds a special significance for the young royals, with Kensington Palace saying Prince William feels “incredibly lucky” to visit a site where his mother’s memory is so alive.

As they would be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on April 29, the Duchess reportedly told the tour guide that the Taj Mahal visit is the flawless thing to do before their anniversary. “They asked me everything about the Taj Mahal a person would want to know, but they were also amazed the idea of Taj – how a ruler got it built for his beloved wife”, he said.

William and Kate toured the iconic building after flying in from Bhutan, with the prince describing the building as “stunning and beautiful”. The royal couple caused a great deal of excitement, with dozens of people taking pictures on their cellphones.

The Taj Mahal was given a makeover for the royal rendezvous, especially the famed Diana seat by the central pool was repaired for the occasion.

While Prince William understands the public’s never-ending fascination with his mother, he has said that he and the duchess don’t consider themselves to be living in her shadow. The photos which were taken on Saturday spoke loudly to those who remember the photos of Princess Diana, and see them as a silent scream about the sadness the princess felt at the time in her marriage to Prince Charles.
