Sharks swarm Kings to take 2-0 series lead
The Kings can’t simply throw their sticks on the ice and hope the Sharks begin to quake in their skates and give the series away, as many believed they did while squandering a 3-0 series lead in the first round against the Kings in 2014.

Team teal got rolling early on when captain and Mr. They’re also an impressive 10-2 in their last 12 games versus a team with a winning record while the Kings are 1-4 in their last five games playing on one day of rest.
“Our 5-on-5 game hasn’t been almost good enough”, Kopitar said. Unless they re good teams, there are no rivalries.
He gets it. The Sharks are at a point where the only way to obliterate their skeptics is with results, not words. It was like watching a newborn babe emerge from the womb. or something like that.
Gaborik had one goal in four games against the Sharks this season – the overtime victor in the Kings 3-2 victory at SAP Center on January 24.
For Los Angeles, Jake Muzzin, Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis each had a goal in the loss. So while they picked up their play at the turn of the calendar year, it still gives Los Angeles more of a reason to not be anxious should they fall further behind in the series. It mattered not; the Sharks are not buying into his crap. “We’ve played very well against good teams at home and we have all year”. Just 13 of their 41 homes games were sellouts, and some nights there looked to be upwards of 3-4,000 empty seats.
“We feel we’re with them, with this city”, Pavelski said. And following the Lecavalier goal, they stood tall, holding off a late push by the Kings to even the score. “I thought after being off nine weeks, nine and a half weeks, I thought he played really well”, coach Darryl Sutter told reporters. Lots of interesting stuff happened to show that this Sharks team is a little different from previous Sharks playoffs teams. Props to the Kings on that – and I will do that in a moment – but this won’t sit well if it continues throughout the series. That line had been out there for 0:90, and was clearly exhausted and expecting the Kings to simply dump the puck. The puck moved out to Shark teammate Justin Braun, who fed it right back to Pavelski as he was moving behind the goal with Kopitar doing his best to annoy him from behind. We looked at the video, and we had good support. Here’s what the Kings did well.

And a successful one, at that. Is that how the saying goes? The Kings are plainly trying to intimidate and agitate the Sharks. The only powerplay goal the Royal Crew allowed came right after potting a shorthanded goal on that same powerplay. Los Angeles defenseman tucked the puck behind Jones into the blue paint and it went off the skate of Shark forward Tomas Hertl into the net. I say yes. appeared first on Mark Purdy. “We’ve played well…we don’t really need to change anything in San Jose”.The Sharks that have been around for at least the past three seasons, like Joe Pavelski, certainly know that’s the case, and we don’t have to repeat the history here at this point. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick made a nice initial save, but found himself way out of position on the rebound, leading to Couture’s first goal of the postseason. If however, San Jose get sucked into the occasion then it’s anyone’s guess who will come up on top. By the way, all five of those guys are Canadian. “And we converted on the chances that we had, which was big, because we knew we’d probably be shorthanded a lot afterward”. No lead is safe from the Kings. Gotta wonder how they will fare if they don’t bring back their main feature. But I think we can do that, hopefully at the end if the series we re standing. For instance, Drew Doughty took 10 shots. The Kings fired 27 shots on goal overall.
