The 34-year old National Football League player’s death came as a shock to many, and the video showed the vast amount of well wishes to Smith and his family.

Michael DeMocker/AP Pallbearers, including New Orleans Saints players Jo Lonn Dunbar (first position, far side), Cam Jordan (fourth position, far side) and Deuce McAllister (third position, near side), carry Will Smith’s coffin. Hayes is being held on a second-degree murder charge.
In the wake of his death, the Smith family has been surrounded by public and private support, including from Saints officials, Will’s former teammates, and Racquel’s friend Kim Kardashian West. Police said Hayes opened fire on Smith after a fender-bender sparked a heated confrontation between the two.
In his letter, Edmonson said he had reviewed Fuller’s request but that there was no legal basis for his agency to step in on a New Orleans investigation.
The footage, taken on April 9 – the night of the fatal shooting – will allegedly place Smith and his wife Racquel at The Penthouse Club or Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, or both clubs, according to the attorneys. Smith was shot to death, and his wife wounded by gunfire, in an altercation following a traffic accident last Saturday.
The lawyer representing the man who shot and killed former Saints defensive end Will Smith asked the Louisiana State Police to get involved in the investigation.
Police spokesman Tyler Gamble said the homicide was getting a “fair, thorough and complete” investigation.
The lawyers were granted motions to preserve the possible evidence by Orleans Parish Magistrate Court on Friday, the same day a public memorial was held for Smith.
Smith played for a Saints’ team that traveled like nomads from stadium to stadium after Hurricane Katrina ripped through the Superdome.
