Sales of the singer’s latest album 25 have also kept her on top of the Young Music Rich List, which must be nice.

She’s not changed much has she?

Her comeback album and tour propelled the British musician to the 30 spot on the paper’s overall list of the wealthiest musicians and performers. The Hello singer is ranked 30th on the Top 50 list, and is at Number One on the Under-30s list. I don’t think … anybody will catch him soon.

Other artists in the top 10 include Sir Elton John, worth £280m, Ringo Starr, worth £200m, and Sting, worth £185m.

When Charlie Watts (£120m) and Ronnie Wood (£55m) are added the band has a combined fortune of £630m, up £40m.

U2 was the highest-grossing rock act a year ago selling 1.29m tickets worth £66m for 76 concerts.

Those figures put her in 30th place on the overall Music Millionaires top 50 – up 13 places from number 43 previous year. Meaning, of course, that Calvin Harris beat her… yeah. “I don’t know whether his success will continue at quite the same rate”.

Singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran has jumped five places making him the second-richest young performer after Adele and propelling him into the main music list for the first time.

He has topped the list of wealthy musicians every time it has been put together since 1989 when his fortune was estimated at £80m.

One Direction’s four members – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – are all in joint third position with a fortune of £33 million.

The former Beatle and his wife Nancy Shevell have a combined fortune of £760 million, according to the Sunday Times yesterday, a rise of £30 million on previous year. “He’s just starting a solo career so he could potentially climb up above them”.
