He is hoping to sack big-earning disgraced club captain Gabby Agbonlahor after he was suspended for a second time this term.

It’s not the first time Agbonlahor has been pictured with the legal high, as in September, photos emerged of the striker inhaling the gas from a balloon in a friend’s kitchen.

Aston Villa’s caretaker manager Eric Black previously announced the club were investigating an incident in Dubai where Agbonlahor was allegedly pictured smoking a shisha pipe. This is following allegations concerning his conduct at the weekend.

However, he says that when he spoke to Agbonlahor about the issue, the striker was confrontational.

The squad is also expected to be a completely re-build and the club should take advantage of some of the Championship’s star players to help re-ignite the passion at Villa Park.

From start to finish, Aston Villa’s season has been fraught with misery.

But with no potential new buyer lined up yet Villa are introducing emergency measures, including shutting the top tier of the Trinity Road Stand next season.

What are the chances of Aston Villa sacking Gabby Agbonlahor?

However, an investigation by the Premier League’s bottom club resulted in no further punishment.

Lifelong fan King admitted his decision had been a tough one to make but he believes Villa can become a force again.

“Now it’s confirmed maybe it’s a weight off the shoulders and we can give these fans what they deserve, some performances”, Lescott said in a post-match interview.

Nearly six months after being fired from Spanish side Real Sociedad Moyes is still seeking a place on the bench and said he is interested in tackling the challenge of returning Aston Villa to the English Premier League in the 2016-2017 season. | File AP
