La. school system ranked fifth-worst | News | The Advocate – Baton Rouge
Connecticut and Illinois were ranked ninth and 10th, WalletHub reported today.

While Alaska – with more than 50,000 students – has the worst school system in the nation, it ranks 35th in safety, the data show.
WalletHub released their report on the Best and Worst School Systems in the Country, and their results indicate South Carolina has the 7th worst school system in the United States.
The website conducted an in-depth analysis of state school systems in all 50 states and the District of Columbia by analyzing different key metrics like standardized test scores and dropout rates.
Massachusetts ranks first overall. Colorado took the top slot in quality.
On the plus side, Louisiana ranked No. 19 in average SAT score. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said people who have a bachelor’s degree make 65 percent more than those with a high school diploma. The state came in at the bottom of the pack in both reading and math test scores, ranking No. 48 in each category.
