Devan Dubnyk had 14 saves for the Wild, who were the eighth seed in the West and now trail Dallas 2-1 in the series. Game 2: Blues at Blackhawks, 3 p.m. ET, NBC (Series tied 1-1) – The series shifts to Chicago after the Blackhawks evened things at a game apiece with Friday’s controversial win at Scottrade Center.

This slowly began to take its toll on Dallas, as the Wild began to exert more influence on the game, and they moved the play into Dallas’ zone with more regularity than they had all series so far.

Spezza then added to that saying “We caught them in transition on a long change for the second power play goal with a good tip by Eaves at the end”.

The second game was much more competitive as the Stars only won by one goal 2-1.

“We feel comfortable with both of them”, Jason Spezza said of the Stars two netminders after the game to NBCSN. Porter’s goal came in the final minute of the first period, Pominville’s go-ahead goal came in the final minute of the second.

Dallas had already established a 2-0 lead, and it looked like the Wild might be beaten in their own arena the same way they’d been in Dallas.

Haula did just that when he tipped in Pominville’s shot from the boards behind the circle in the second period to tie the game. And for a while, it seemed to take the Stars off their game. “Then you get a couple ugly ones and get momentum off of it”. “That’s probably as bad as I’ve seen us play in maybe five weeks”, Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said. After a Minnesota loss, the man who has tried to invigorate this maddening team was left one game from elimination with them. The Wild forecheck was solid, and the chances that Minnesota created were often better than Dallas’, especially in the second period.

“We’re best when our backs are against the wall”, Ryan Suter said.

This is where Patrick Sharp and Johnny Oduya, who have nearly gotten used to making deep runs every season, come into play, as they are some of the best players to have in the postseason. “I was just lucky enough to get a stick on it, and got lucky that Niemi was going the other way and it went in”, Coyle said.
