Joe has now released a statement on his website, updating his fans on his health and thanking them for their support and prayers.

He says the 87-year-old Jackson remains in the intensive care unit of the Albert Einstein Hospital, where he was admitted on Sunday. I want to thank you all for your prayers, unwavering support and kind well wishes during these trying times. God willing, I should be able to make a quick recovery and travel back home soon.

According to the news outlet, Jackson is in Brazil for his birthday party when the emergency occurred. The talent scout has been dining out and also became a member of the Corinthians Soccer Club.

Joe’s children have previously spoken out about their “abusive” upbringing, but their father insists he is “glad” he was a “tough” parent.
