A new storm system begins to approach the area today, causing an increase in cloud cover during the day. Best rain chance comes late this afternoon into the evening and overnight hours.

Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers will be around for tonight, with a low temperature of 58 degrees. But our timing still looks great for the weekend. Then, flawless weather Saturday and Sunday with sunny warm days. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s today. I do think Saturday will be on the cooler side, with highs only in the lower 50s.

NEXT WEEK: An upper ridge will keep our state warm and generally dry through the week with highs in the 80s.

There are a few more shots at rain in the 10 Day Forecast.

A quiet start to the day with morning temperatures in the 30s, 40s and 50s under a mostly clear sky. We’re about 3 inches below average for rain year-to-date.

Monday: Increasing clouds, chance for afternoon showers. We should return to the lower 60s by Wednesday.
