Taj Mahal mesmerises William, Kate

William and Kate then headed inside, where they saw the tombs of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, his wife whom he commissioned the monument for in 1631 as a symbol of his eternal love.

Knowing how important it was to the Duke and Duchess, an official statement was released on their website reflecting Princess Diana’s relationship with India. After the photo session, the royal couple were escorted to the main mausoleum. It was a spectacular end to a seven-day tour of India and Bhutan that has included one of the most eclectic itineraries ever on a royal excursion overseas.

William was dressed in a pair of brown pants and a white shirt while Kate wore a white dress with blue floral patterns designed by Indo-American fashion designer Naeem Khan.

While Prince William understands the public’s never-ending fascination with his mother, he has said that he and the duchess don’t consider themselves to be living in her shadow.
