After big NY wins, Trump and Clinton cast themselves as inevitable
The count includes endorsements from several delegates who are free to support the candidate of their choice. Clinton carried all of the counties in and around New York City, but struggled in most counties in upstate New York, which went to Sanders. Bernie Sanders, from Vermont, has been granted a permit to host a rally on the New Haven Green on Sunday at 7 p.m., but his campaign has not confirmed the appearance.

Trump earned close to 60 percent of the vote in the Republican primary and nearly all of New York’s 95 delegates. (See the chart above.) Clinton won 13 counties, all urban.
To win the Democratic nomination, a candidate needs 2,383 delegates. Moreover, she mentioned topics such as language and faith diversity, as a “strength” that characterizes the state.
Tim Clark, Trump’s state director, said he plans to have the office up and running next week, along with another space in Southern California. We have a very different vision-it’s about lifting each other up, not tearing each other down.
Trump added that “Bernie Sanders made a big mistake by not going after her emails, which are a big part of her life story”. In the big turnout year of 2008, 1.86 million people voted in the Democratic primary. “You’re paying for this election”.
The difference in rural and urban voting patterns in NY couldn’t be clearer cut.

Trump, however, had no such reservations while speaking shortly after his NY win Tuesday night. The delegates were chosen by party officials before the May 3 primary, but have to vote on the first ballot at the convention for the victor of the state primary or the victor of the congressional district they represent.
Sessions, who endorsed Trump in late February, also said Wednesday that while he only got to know Trump’s new campaign operative Paul Manafort in recent weeks, he was impressed with the campaign veteran who has begun to retool the Manhattan businessman’s political operation ahead of a potential contested convention.
“He has a record of cutting through bureaucratic dysfunction and his message to “Make America Great Again” is exactly what we need after two failed terms of President Obama”, Cox said.
