The diverse and exciting cast of Star Trek Beyond continues to grow!

Actor and martial artist Joe Taslim has joined the cast of Star Trek Beyond, THR reports.
Buci also confirmed that the upcoming Star Trek Beyond movie would be Joe’s first appearance after successfully finishing the acting course. Well, earlier in the year, all signs appeared to indicate that Luther and Thor: The Dark World’s Idris Elba was in early talks to assume the role of the villain, though Paramount is yet to offer any official confirmation at this time.
Along with Taslim, Elda, Boutella, and Pine, “Star Trek Beyond” also stars Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Joseph Gatt, Zachary Quinto, and John Cho, among others. In the latter, he played one of the major roles, Sergeant Jaka.
Taslim made his breakthrough with his role as a police officer in Gareth Evans’ popular cult action hit, The Raid. His role is said to be a “key part opposite Elba”, although we know no more than that right now.

Taslim will once again be working with director Justin Lin, who he previously worked with in “Fast and Furious 6” where he played the baddie alongside Luke Evans.
