Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz retirement tweets stir up UFC
White, who did not return a message from the Review-Journal, indicated the organization will attempt to find a new opponent for Diaz. “Conor didn’t want to come… he’s in Iceland training right now”, White said on ESPN. He’s in Iceland training and [not participating in the marketing] is not possible.

By now everyone has heard the news that the Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz rematch at UFC 200 is off. The question is, what will the new UFC 200 main event look like now?
He rose to prominence after knocking out undefeated UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194.
McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh added via his Twitter account: “Well was fun while it lasted”.
White confirmed that these promotional responsibilities are mandatory, leading the UFC with no other choice than to pull the Irishman from the card.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes there is only one reason as to why McGregor would call it quits.
White refused to read too much into McGregor’s tweet, saying: “Is Conor McGregor retiring?”
UFC president Dana White made the announcement via “SportsCenter” on Tuesday.
It looks like Conor McGregor may not have been trolling after all… We also don’t know if Diaz will still be fighting at UFC 200 or if he is also permanently off the card. The site notes that according to a source close to McGregor, the fighter will make a public comment about his removal from the show within the next day. McGregor’s fight with Diaz at UFC 200 is scheduled for July 9.

McGregor’s retirement tweet comes just a week after the popular fighter witnessed the death of fellow MMA fighter João Carvalho, who died after suffering injuries in a match in Dublin in early April.
