Obama flies to Queen’s castle to wish her happy 90th birthday
The 94-year-old royal and the Queen greeted the U.S. leader and his wife on the golf course of the Windsor estate, as the American couple arrived in style in their helicopter, Marine One.

The president shouted: “Oh there you are – hello” after he and his wife stepped out of the presidential black Cadillac on Friday evening.
He joked: “Sorry about the weather”.
Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II meets well wishers during a walkabout to celebrate her 90th birthday in Windsor, England, Thursday April 21, 2016. Once inside, the four posed for photos before the press.
Harry, Michelle, and Kate sat on one side of the room while Obama and William appeared locked in conversation on the opposite side of a large upholstered octagonal table, on which rested, somewhat incongruously, the stuffed dog Michelle and Obama had brought for Charlotte. After upstaging all of his family members in the Queen’s portrait for her 90th birthday, Prince George took his cuteness even further during his meeting with President Obama at Kensington Palace.
In May, 2011, the Queen hosted a state visit of the Obamas, and they slept at the castle.
Most people send a card, call, or post on Facebook for someone’s birthday, but President Barack Obama went the extra mile on Friday – thousands of miles, actually – to deliver 90th birthday greetings to Queen Elizabeth II over lunch at Windsor Castle.
According to The Hill, the prince thanked Obama for the rocking horse he was given when he was born.
Obama described the queen as “delightful” following their first meeting in 2009.
Barack Obama brought a gift: A photo album of the queen’s many visits with USA president and first ladies.

With a patterned scarf tied around her head in a light drizzle, the queen climbed from the dark blue Range Rover that her husband, Prince Philip, drove to the landing area for Britain’s oldest and longest-serving monarch to welcome her third USA president to the castle. But it was two-year-old Prince George who stole the limelight. The Obamas and the younger royals have had a close relationship during Obama’s presidency, with both Princes having stayed at the White House during visits to the United States.
