Ronny Deila to quit as Celtic manager at end of season
Earlier, he had to sheepishly admit to interviewer Conor Brophy that his phone had gone off and, when asked by the overall event presenter Alison Comyn if the call had been from Celtic, he initially said that it had been his wife before addressing it.

Another former Celt, Paul Lambert, is also being considered – the Blackburn boss understood to be concerned about future plans at the Championship club.
“When I came in to the job I talked about improving the team and playing attractive football and I think the last six months we haven’t had the improvement that we need”.
“It is a privilege to be the Celtic manager and I did everything I could to try and make it right”. The fans have been magnificent during the past two years.
Norwegian Deila addressed the issue after deciding to step down at the end of the season in the wake of Sunday’s Scottish Cup exit to Rangers on penalties. “It just took that little bit of time to get some game-time under my belt and show him what I really could do”, Griffiths said.
‘I have to look myself in the mirror and say: “OK, this and this was good, but…”
From a personal point of view, Hibs’ on-loan striker Anthony Stokes could have been forgiven for supporting Rangers in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final against his parent club Celtic, however such thought never entered his head.
Moyes is now the bookies’ favourite to take on the job, with Neil Lennon and Roy Keane following close behind.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, Deila said: “I know that there’s been a lot speculation around these things”. Two months later the Scottish Premiership title was sealed with three games to spare. We have targets, let’s go and get them.
“I have got a lot of things to think about between now and May 24 that are going to keep my mind occupied”.
Meanwhile, Alan Stubbs – another reported candidate for the job at Celtic Park – has insisted he is not thinking about the possibility of replacing Deila. That time-frame fits with the former Manchester United and Real Sociedad manager’s outlined plan.
Delia, who took over at Celtic in June 2014, led the Glasgow side to a league and cup double last season.

And Giggs wants clarification over his long-term role with United before he decides to end his 28-year association with the club. Celtic failed to reach the Champions League group stage and finished bottom of their Europa League group this season.
