Clinton has been under increasing pressure from environmentalists, progressive donors, and her opponents for the Democratic nomination to endorse aggressive climate change and energy goals. Clinton sees climate change as a winning issue which can can tip the scales against Republicans in for the forthcoming 2016 elections.
Hillary Clinton rebuffed a question Monday about her position on the Keystone XL oil pipeline even as she unveiled new energy proposals, opening the door to jeers from Republicans who accused her of “dodging”.
Her plan calls for using renewable energy to generate a third of all electric power in 2020, along with investments that her campaign says will put America’s economy on the road toward “deep decarbonization by 2050”. Her plan calls for installation of 500 million solar panels over four years.
Clinton is expected to explain more details of the plan during a Monday event in Des Moines, according to Yahoo’s report. “And I’ve surely got to inform you, those who dispute against this are only not attending to”.
“She knows exactly how classifying materials works”.
“I will refrain from commenting because I had a leading role in getting that process started”, Hillary Clinton said.
O’Malley plans to seek a cap on carbon emissions from all fossil fuel sources, and use proceeds from federal permits to help lower- and middle-class families with job transition assistance.
Clinton proposes, through tax incentives, to increase the amount of power derived from renewable sources to support every home in the United States within 10 years.
“Despite evidence to the contrary, Secretary Clinton continues to maintain that she never had classified emails”.
Democratic presidential candidates Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders have been open about their opposition to the pipeline that would bring oil from Canadian tar sands to the Gulf Coast.
In a video released Sunday night, Clinton named two national goals that she will set if elected president.
“I think The New York Times is not only concerned about its access to the Clintons and their approval by the Clintons”, says Graham, “they’re concerned about their liberal readership being upset that they would in any way sort of ruin the Clintons”.
Clinton’s refusal to talk about Keystone XL may be angering environmental activists, but her stance has been defended by San Francisco billionaire Tom Steyer.

“… At the end of the day, growth in renewables doesn’t mean enough if we’re simultaneously kicking the decarbonization can down the road with more pipelines and more extraction on public lands”, McKibben said.
