Questions swirl about Prince’s health with unexplained death

The 57-year-old was pronounced dead Thursday morning, sparking an outpouring of sadness as fans and loved ones searched for answers.

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference today and divulged new details surrounding the singer’s untimely demise.

Olson confirmed that Prince’s staff were unable to reach Prince Friday morning, and went to Prince’s compound. Paramedics came just after 10 a.m. local time and unsuccessfully tried to revive him by doing CPR.

“We have no reason to believe at this point that this was a suicide, but again, this is early on in this investigation”, said Sheriff Jim Olson”.

The coroner who performed an autopsy on singer Prince’s body has ruled out suicide, saying there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Prince was last seen at 8pm the night before his death when he was dropped off at the property.

The medical examiner’s office said it “will not release information until the exam is complete and all results are obtained”.

The plane on which Prince was traveling from Atlanta last week made an emergency landing due to an “unresponsive male” passenger, a source with direct knowledge of the incident told NBC News.

Promoter Steve Litman said Friday that he’d been working for weeks to set up two surprise pop-up shows on April 18 at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. He did not confirm whether Prince was taking any medication at the time of his death.

Olson said normal protocol includes gathering recorded surveillance video, as well as thorough search of the scene, which included a search warrant, which he said “would be filed in the next week or so”.
