Michael Keaton and Mark Ruffalo Star in First ‘Spotlight’ Trailer
For this investigation, The Boston Globe picked up a Pulitzer Prize for public service in 2004. So really, I have no idea how this film will turn out. Spotlight will bring the story of the Pultizer Prize winning Boston Globe’s investigation to life. And now it is also the subject of Thomas McCarthy’s new film with a star-studded cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Michael Keaton, Liev Schreiber, Brian D’Arcy James, Stanley Tucci, and Billy Crudup. You’ll be able to pre-judge its award season merits below as the first trailer for the drama has just arrived.

McCarthy’s script, co-written by Josh Singer, was one of 2013′s Black List of unproduced screenplays.
“The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.”
The trailer you’re about to watch deals with a very serious issue that most people rarely think about. The titular “Spotlight” team of reporters spent a year unearthing the scandalous details of the cover-up, which reached across Boston’s religious, legal, and government establishments.

Open Road’s Spotlight will premiere at the Venice Film Festival and screen at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Surely vying for Oscar contention when it lands in theaters on November 6.
