Poole Athletics Club members’ eve Filmer, 52, and Steve Buller, 48, have both been spectators at the London Marathon before but this year they are both taking part for the first time.

He is going to be competing in his 16th consecutive London Marathon, raising funds for the Kent Association for the Blind.

The Elite Women’s group will leave the gate at 9:20am.

The 32-year-old is joined by the likes of Britain’s six-time London marathon victor and reigning Paralympic champion David Weir and Australia’s two-time Paralympic champion Kurt Fearnley.

Having trained for 16 weeks in all weathers, the hard work is nearly done and yesterday (21 April) saw Dan attend the London Marathon Expo at Excel in East London to pick up his running number and timing tag. He will be pounding the streets to fundraise for brain injury charity Headway for which he is vice president.

CEO Jean-Claude Biver said at the announcement of the partnership past year: “The Virgin Money London Marathon perfectly embodies the TAG Heuer mindset of mental fortitude, perseverance and inner strength”. We’d love to receive your post-race photos and comments to include in our coverage. He completed the course in a magical two hours, 49 minutes and 44 seconds.

What celebrities are running in the marathon?

Forecaster Emma Sharples said: “Unfortunately the temperatures we have seen over the past few days are not going to continue and will drop below average for the time of year”.

From famous faces to local fundraising heroes, a variety of people from the region will be taking part to run 26.2 miles in England’s capital on Sunday. “The charity does such a lot of good for people in east Kent and all over the county and needs all the support it can get to keep its valuable services running”. I was angry for a long time as a kid and, to be honest, ashamed, but over time I worked it out of my system.

“Bloodwise is the main charity whose research I benefited from”.

That sounds hard on all those lining up in Greenwich on Sunday, but whereas in 1981 there was only the marathon for the aspiring runner-cum-fitness freak to aim for, in 2016 it’s all about extremes.
