Trump, Hillary projected to sweep upcoming primaries
The May 3 primary will be crucial for both parties’ candidates, as IN offers 83 Democratic and 57 Republican delegates, more than any other primary next month.

Two polls released this week – one from Fox News, the other from CBS News/YouGov – showed Trump at 49% and far outpacing his rivals, Texas Sen. Speaking in Vermont, Sanders expressed concerns with the voter registration process in NY, saying 30 percent of eligible voters couldn’t vote because they registered as Independents instead of Democrats or Republicans.
“When he’s out on the stage, when he’s talking about the kinds of things he’s talking about on the stump, he’s projecting an image that’s for that goal… you’ll start to see more depth of the person, the real person”.
Rhode Island holds a proportional primary and awards 19 delegates. In a race that’s become as close as this one, every delegate a candidate gains matters.
Kasich urged the crowd to help him win some of the state’s 28 delegates at Tuesday’s primary so he can have greater standing at the national convention in July.
On the same day that Donald Trump hosted a rally in DE claiming the primary system is rigged and the only way to knock out his opponents is with votes, his campaign launched a California-wide call urging Independents in the state to register Republican.
It’s full steam ahead for the front runners after winning NY.
Kasich’s campaign is trying to capitalize on that message, announcing Friday it will run its first television ad in CT touting his record as a governor and former member of Congress. The Maine GOP says there are 200 people running for 23 national delegate positions, the largest number to seek delegate status in recent memory.
Among the states that rank highest in income inequality are Northeast states like NY and MA, which also rank highly in total per-capita income, and Southern states such as Louisiana and Alabama that have low per-capita income, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. His campaign also believes he can pick up delegates in CT, where 55 are at stake.
Democratic candidates must reach 2,383 delegates to secure the party’s nomination before the election. Even the loser gets some.
The next set of contests, on April 26, echoes the demographics and polling that spurred them to victory in NY state on Tuesday. That state, the second biggest prize of the night with 95 delegates, is a Clinton stronghold.
In Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Maryland, Jews don’t make up as much of the population as they do in NY. “It’s because of them that our campaign can take on the establishment and win eight of the last 10 primaries and caucuses”. In Ohio, Clinton won 59 percent of that demographic to Sanders’s 38 percent on her way to a win. Clinton now holds a 513-38 advantage among those party officials.
State Sen. Tony Hwang, R-Fairfield, chairman of Kasich’s campaign in CT, predicted the state could ultimately prove very helpful to his candidate, who has the backing of numerous state’s top Republicans past and present.
