Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said Prince’s body had no signs of trauma when he was found. Authorities said it could be weeks before the cause of death is released.

The musician died unexpectedly Thursday at the age of 57.

Prince’s body was released to his family Friday afternoon after an autopsy was performed earlier in the day.

“Staff members from Paisley Park had been unable to contact Prince yesterday morning and went to check on him”, he said.

A transcript of a 911 call shows it came from an unidentified male at 9:43 a.m. The singer was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m. after first responders attempted CPR.

Prince was last seen at 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

A post-mortem examination took place on Friday, where information about Prince’s “medical and social history” was gathered, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said.

The law enforcement leader said that, even though the autopsy has been completed, he can’t discuss any objects that were taken from the scene since the case is still under investigation.

That person, whom the sheriff did not identify, has been interviewed as part of the investigation.

Olson said that the sheriff did not have any evidence of foul play.

“There are so many rumors”, Olson said when asked to put some of those rumors to rest. “We have no reason to believe at this point that this was a suicide”.

Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing “multiple” unnamed sources, has reported that Prince received treatment for a painkiller overdose while traveling home from concerts in Atlanta last week.

“The Prince I know was super-healthy, vegan, wasn’t an abuser of drugs, wasn’t an abuser of alcohol”, Reid said. He played a pair of makeup shows April 14 in that city, apologizing to the crowd shortly after coming on stage.

Prince was slated to perform two shows earlier this week at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis but canceled last week because of health concerns.

Ex-wife Manuela Testolini said that as well as being a husband and friend, Prince had been a “fierce philanthropist” who encouraged her to set up her own charity.

An updated release from the medical examiner’s office stated the singer’s body would be returned to his family and that a full report, including toxicology, could “likely take weeks”.
