The star was taking the drug for a hip problem after having corrective surgery around six years ago, TMZ said.
On April 15, Prince’s private jet was forced to make a landing for a medical emergency.
Our sources further say doctors advised Prince to stay in the hospital for 24 hours.
The death of musical legend Prince at his suburban Minneapolis home on Thursday at the age of 57 resonated throughout the sports world. “Thanks for giving us so much…”
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the death.
Prince has died, aged 57.
Sheriff’s deputies and medics were sent to Paisley Park sometime around 9:43 a.m. local time, USA Today reports.
Dispatcher: 911, where is your emergency? Yeah we need an ambulance right now. An unidentified caller who said he was at “Prince’s house” initially tells the dispatcher that he has “someone who is unconscious” before saying “the person is dead here”, The Associated Press reports.
UM: Um, we’re at Prince’s house.
UM: Yeah, yeah, okay, hold on. “On behalf of the National Basketball Association family, I want to say how sorry we are for his family and his millions of fans”.
UM: I’m working on it, I’m working on it. It’s not until later in the conversation that the caller identifies Prince as the deceased party, but he tells the operator earlier in the conversation, “And the people are just distraught”. When the dispatcher asks the man if he knows how the singer died, he replies: “I don’t know, I don’t know”.
The celebration of Prince continued Friday morning at his old hangout at First Avenue in Minneapolis and recording studio and home in Chanhassen.

EC: OK, your cell phone’s not going to tell me where you’re at, so I need you to find me an address. Over the years he became a huge Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx fan, attending numerous games and even treating our Lynx players and staff with a private concert at Paisley Park after winning the WNBA Championship this past fall.
