“Lemonade” was advertised only as a special on cable network HBO but, more than halfway through, Beyonce dropped an album by the same name.

From fire to wilted flowers to children to talk of abuse and cheating, the film had social media a-buzz about how Beyonce was, basically, divorcing her husband Jay Z via an HBO hour-long special.
In the lyrics to Pray You Catch Me she sings: “You can taste the dishonesty…”
Tidal, the music streaming service co-owned by Jay Z, has struggled to gain users as apps like Spotify and Apple Music remain vastly more popular.
The song Formation, which Beyonce performed at this year’s Super Bowl, also features on the album.
Beyonce wrote two songs on “Lemonade” with Diplo. And while we’ve seen similar canary’s in the all-you-can-eat streaming music coal mine, this one is particularly notable.
Much like her 2013 self-titled visual album, Queen Bey didn’t give fans a heads up, although her trailer earlier this week was indication that something was coming. Those who tuned in likely recognized the voices of Kendrick Lamar (“Freedom”), The Weeknd (“6 Inch”), and James Blake (“Forward”). The love of my…you’re the love of my life.
“And he taught me to be strong / He told me when he’s gone / Here’s what you do”, the chorus goes.
The victims Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin were black shooting victims.
Could this entire album might actually be about her mother and her grandmother?
TidalOn Tidal, the album is described as a conceptual project “based on every woman’s journey of self knowledge and healing”. Her camp has been typically quiet as to what exactly Lemonade is -A bunch of music videos off her new album?

The record follows the release of album-featured single “Formation” and the announcement of a world tour which begins next week.
