Check out our latest Talk “n” Shoot video blog where we review the odds for the UFC 197’s main fights. Jones needs to end this fight quickly.

The judges returned equally lopsided scores with Jones winning 50-44, 50-45 and 50-45. He will next face Daniel Cormier to unify the title.

This wasn’t that big of a setback for Saint Preux.

Not that Cormier needed anymore motivation to get healthy for his rematch with Jones, but the one-finger salute from his long-time rival will certainly push him that much harder.

The co-main event pits UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson against unbeaten 2008 Olympic gold medalist wrestler Henry Cejudo.

Perhaps some of the reason Saint Preux maintains such a pleasant disposition is because it’s a fight for which he has prepared for years – even if he took it on short notice. Saint Preux is an explosive striker and a quick counter attacker, creating a potential threat should Jones show any rust in his return to action. Now, if his performance against Ovince St. Preux didn’t fit the usual Jones mold, it was because he was competing in uncharted territory. For anyone that missed UFC 197 (shame on you!), I honestly don’t think I’d take the time out of my day to watch Jones vs. Saint Preux.

“I was just watching, anticipating and imagining techniques landing”. It was still impressive for any fighter to go the distance with Jones.

Cormier, who owns an impressive 17-1 record, has not fought since successfully defending his title against Alexander Gustafsson via split decision in October.

On the eve of the biggest fight of former Tennessee football player turned UFC fighter Ovince Saint Preux’s career, radio host Vince Ferrara called it a potential “career-maker” for Saint Preux. Jones still dominated the fight start to finish, utilizing his signature front kicks to the leg and elbows in the clinch to rack up more than enough points to win a decision. Cejudo isn’t as experienced as Johnson, but he strongly believes his wrestling and boxing is the key to defeat the long reigning champion.

Johnson improved to 23-2-1 in handing Cejudo his first professional loss at 10-1.
