Former Vol Ovince Saint Preux loses by decision to Jon “Bones” Jones
That opponent switch may have benefited Jones, who didn’t look his best on Saturday night but still got the job done. “All my techniques, the angles, my ideas, I’ve been working for Daniel Cormier for over seven months”.

“It didn’t happen the way I wanted it to”. St. Preux turtled up as Jones blasted him with elbows and almost had a chance at a rear-naked choke before the end of the round.
They’re expected to fight in the main event of UFC 200, though Cormier has a doctor’s appointment on Monday to get his leg examined. “I would love to be the only guy to fight at UFC 100 and 200”, he said.
Jones wasn’t the explosive fighter he often is and said he had trouble getting off. You know, a lot of times people think it has a lot to do with your physical attributes, but a lot of it comes from mental preparation, too.
“We’ve been wanting to do this for a while to see if our theory works”. The two heated rivals eventually fought at UFC 182 in January 2015 with Jones winning by five-round unanimous decision.
Unfortunately, following that, Jones was involved in a number of legal battles and the UFC chose to strip the light heavyweight title from him. And those words were still echoing through MGM Grand Garden Arena as Jones walked to the cage. Instead of a massive rematch against Cormier, he will fight the division’s No. 6-ranked contender. “I want my actual belt back”, said Jones. “I missed the game so much. I was impressed with him in that sense”. “That guy that fought tonight? To get in there for all these fans, saving this card, I thought it would give me some brownie points with the fans”. “I’ve been training for one fighter”, he said. “I can beat Daniel Cormier and I’m hoping to prove that as soon as possible”. However, despite his best efforts, he couldn’t keep Saint Preux on his back.
Saint Preux concedes a three-month camp can get tedious, especially eating bland foods for an extended period to cut weight. He may have been really nice to me calling the fights. Johnson has won each of his last nine fights. “And to drop the fight being ‘hurt, ‘ it just makes no sense”.
“It’s a career maker”, said Ferrara. We have a saying in our gym, KMA versus everybody. “This was good for him”.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Demetrious Johnson took just 2 minutes and 49 seconds to defeat 2008 Olympic gold medal wrestler Henry Cejudo by TKO and defend his flyweight title for a remarkable eighth time.
