Sheriff: Prince found alone, with no signs of trauma

Olson said that there were “no obvious signs of trauma” and that the musician was last seen at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, when someone dropped him off at his property. Prince also told the audience of about 200 fans, “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers”.
He also sold more than 100 million records during his career. and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for Purple Rain in 1985. People emerged from the estate and handed out round purple boxes to some fans.

An autopsy was completed earlier today, though preliminary findings weren’t immediately released. Olson said Prince was alone at home, which was not unusual.
Housley says she’s a huge Prince fan and that seeing the world lit up in purple makes her proud.
The 57-year-old was found dead yesterday in a lift at his home in Minneapolis.
TMZ reported Friday morning that Prince had overdosed on the prescription painkiller Percocet days before his death.
The seven-time Grammy-winning artist was discovered slumped in an elevator at his estate in Chanhassen, southwest of Minneapolis, US, and was pronounced dead at the scene Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said.
Heather McElhatton, who worked on and off as a set decorator for Prince’s video shoots at Paisley Park from 1988 to 1998, said she never saw him take drugs or drink during her time there. An autopsy is now being carried out but officials have advised that results may take weeks to come back.
At one point early in his first show, he briefly disappeared from the stage without explanation. You could tell he was different because Prince normally will give you three or four encores especially because he loves the crowd cheering and chanting. His voice seemed a bit weak at times when he spoke, but he sounded fine when singing during the 80-minute show, which featured “Nothing Compares 2 U” and his finale, “Baby, I’m A Star”.
Prince cancels two shows at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, citing the flu.
