After these features roll out, players won’t see anything new until the fall, when Harmonix will drop a “Rock Band 4” expansion pack.
Long story short, everyone can play with their friends online when the update rolls out this holiday 2016.
The announcement of the imminent availability of synchronous online multiplayer to Rock Band 4, as a result of an upcoming expansion, is noteworthy. That’s all the wanted to say about it right now, but we’ll get more information during E3.
In addition to a killer on-disc soundtrack, Rock Band 4 will support over 2000 tracks released since the 2007 launch of the original Rock Band, accounting for more than 500 of rock music’s most legendary artists. In 2015, Harmonix and Bethesda came together to bring Fallout’s Vault 111 as a free character costume to the game. We consider Rock Band 4 to be not just a game, but the iconic band platform for this generation of gaming consoles.
