As she came out of the zonal office, Ms Jayalalithaa waved at hundreds of party cadres who were waiting outside the premises and flashed her party’s two leaves symbol as well as victory sign. The AIADMK supremo said the party would make constant efforts to ensure Tamilians in Sri Lanka are given a separate homeland, Press Trust of India reported. Addressing a public meeting seeking votes for the party candidates contesting the May 16 assembly election in 30 constituencies in the Union territory of Puducherry on Monday, Jayalalithaa said AINRC and AIADMK had fought the last assembly polls and emerged victorious. Listing out various welfare schemes for farmers like Uzhavar Pathukappu Thittam (Farmers Protection Scheme), she alleged that DMK was indulging in false propaganda over alleged farmers’ suicides.
