Chopper4 was over the scene where a plane that looked like it had been on fire lay in the backyard of a home in pieces.

Smoke from the crash could be seen from 10 miles south, in Fort Lauderdale.

The Federal Aviation Administration told the station that the pilot was practicing takeoffs and landings when the accident occurred.

The plane went down just before 3 p.m. and hit “a number” of homes, according to the local CBS affiliate.

The three victims, one female and two males, were transported to nearby hospitals with severe burn injuries and are in critical condition.

Firefighters used water hoses to spray a house with a hole knocked in its roof, according to video posted on several media outlets. Two of the victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, and a third victim was taken to Broward Health North. King said the aircraft “struck at least one house on the way down before it crashed”.

When the plane struck the house, it bounced over the house next door and came to a rest in the yard of the house next to that, Jurgle said.

“I think there’s some very lucky people in Pompano.”

No other information was immediately known.
