Josh Norman, Redskins reportedly agree to a very expensive contract
Streeter Lecka/Getty ImagesStar cornerback Josh Norman has agreed to a 5-year, $75 million contract with the Washington Redskins, according to multiple reports. “And so when I say that, everything I put into it since Day One, I’m going to give back just that much for it tenfold”. Norman got his huge contract, which will pay him even more than he would have made under the franchise tag in 2016. “It really did”, Norman told “Redskins Nation” on Friday night.

It’s understandable that Norman, 28, would want to cash in after a career season. Considered one of the benchmark franchises in the National Football League when it comes to business and success, the Pats have long believed in not overspending on a player who would be far past their prime or usefulness by the end of a long contract, so they frequently make moves like this.
Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, who received the franchise tag from the team for 2016, welcomed Norman via Twitter. Signing Josh Norman is a very “Redskins move” as he easily becomes the best player in all of free agency this offseason and will be asking for a ridiculous amount of money after one very impressive year. Norman will also get divisional matchups against Dallas Cowboys top receiver Dez Bryant.
“And the insane thing is I didn’t see it until a day and a half later because I was still getting over the fact of what was going on”. According to CBS Sports, the athlete is scheduled to visit Washington this week for a possible contract negotiation. “When we played you guys a year ago, y’all was competing all the way until the bitter end”. You’re a playoff team; it was in the thick of things.
Norman’s regular-season debut will be on ESPN’s Monday Night Football on September 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In his 2015 season with the Panthers, Norman was credited with 181 tackles, 36 pass deflections, seven interceptions, four forced fumbles and two touchdowns.

If there’s anything to take away from the last couple of days, it would be the Panthers now have a huge hole to fill on defense now that Norman is a member of the Redskins.
