An Imagined Timeline of Jay Z’s Weekend

Partly for that reason, when Rihanna streamed her new album “Anti” on Tidal for a week in January, she also sold it through stores like iTunes after a day. While the album starts off feeling like a way to serve her husband divorce papers, it ends on a happy note.

Even with its limited release on Tidal (which has three million subscribers according to Billboard), the album has been met with praise from fans and critics who can barely even define the arresting display of videos and singles.

Thanks to a few lyrics in Beyoncé’s Lemonade, it’s been a harrowing few days for women around the world named Becky with good hair and Rachel Roy, the fashion designer who many are now speculating is the woman Jay Z allegedly cheated on Yoncé with.

Certainly, Beyonce’s Lemonade album has seen a ton of publicity.

Based on the HBO special as well as the album, Lemonade seems to suggest Jay Z had at least one affair, and catching him cheating created an emotional maelstrom for Bey. Roy’s photo, which she’s since deleted, was captioned in part “Good hair don’t care”. Beyonce and Jay Z may have put this behind them and there are no signs of them breaking up. Rumors indicate that Roy may have been the source of the 2014 elevator fight between Jay Z and Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles.

In addition to dragging Beyonce for releasing her album too soon after Prince’s death, Wendy Williams also sent a message to Rachel Roy. In “Daddy Lessons”, Beyonce sings, “My daddy warned me about men like you / He said, ‘Baby girl, he’s playing you'”. It’s name is Hot Sauce, which is a callback (technically a call-forward?) to the lyric in “Formation” that reads: “I got hot sauce in my bag / swag”.
