But Manziel attorney Robert Hinton told the Associated Press on Monday he has been informed by prosecutors that they intend to indict his client on Tuesday.

A deal between Manziel’s attorneys and prosecutors to avoid a trial could include an agreement that Manziel seek anger management or domestic battery counseling, or undergo some form of substance abuse rehab, lawyers watching the case have said.
“I’m hoping to take care of the issues in front of me right now, so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016″, Manziel said in a statement last week”.
Following two seasons of inconsistent play on the field and numerous off-the-filed incidents of partying and drinking, as well as a stint in rehab, Manziel was cut by the Cleveland Browns in March.
At the time Crowley said Manziel had become “aggressive” with her after meeting her on a night out with her friends at the Zaza Hotel.
Manziel is accused of hitting her so hard that she temporarily lost hearing in one ear.
The model has a protective order against the embattled former quarterback and he must stay away from her until February 3, 2018, and can’t be within 500 feet of her Fort Worth apartment. According to Colleen Crowley in her request for a restraining order, there were confrontations between the two in a hotel, and she was forced into a vehicle despite her pleas for help to a hotel staff member. She said she suffered a ruptured ear drum from the hit.
Even if a settlement is reached and the case never goes to trial, the National Football League still has the ability to suspend Manziel for the incident.
Lawyers have noted the case has been handled unusually.

Dallas police took the unusual step of referring the misdemeanor case to a grand jury, which typically only hears felony cases.

The indictment was prompted when allegations were made by Crowley.
