Netflix prices are increasing next month
A spokeswoman said Netflix is sticking with that forecast.

Pacific Crest analyst Andy Hargreaves believes Netflix is taking is slow.
For Wall Street, the principal bogeyman this time around was perceptions of weak future growth for global subscribers.
Conversely, first quarter was among one of the best quarters of Netflix in terms of subscribers growth.
Despite a strong performance in the first three months of 2016, Netflix predicted that its growth in new US members would barely inch higher this spring, and subscriber sign-ups overseas would actually be weaker than they were a year earlier. Amazon’s website said that users who opt to pay $10.99 monthly, instead of the $99 annual fee, can cancel at any time.
Shares in Netflix plunged more than 15% after the online streaming giant released its financial results for Q1 of 2016 along with its forecasts for the coming quarter. “It’s an enormous quarter for us”. This will become especially apparent as Netflix moves into countries with more ropey internet infrastructure.
We should keep an open mind on this.
Over the weekend, many Unblock-US customers took to social media to complain that they were unable to access the U.S. Netflix website, which offers a much larger catalogue of TV shows and movies than Canada’s. Additionally, the company moved away from grandfathering in prices for long-term customers who joined the service at a lower fee than is now available. According to a spokesperson with NordVPN, the company’s services still work with Netflix and they are working to ensure that doesn’t change.
Netflix began mainly by buying the rights to shows created by television networks, but in recent years some of its most popular offerings have been made in-house, like the political thriller House of Cards and the female-led comedy Orange Is the New Black. “They are being prudent”. While the standalone product may not attract a huge number of subscribers, Amazon is quickly becoming a strong competitor to Netflix.

This means that long-term customers who are used to paying $7.99 per month, will now be required to pay $9.99 per month. In this scenario, Netflix still makes an extra $27 million per month (or $327 million per year) in revenue. Amazon is faulted by the Wall Street analyst community for razor-thin margins and for spending on projects not expected to help the company’s bottom line.
