Tinder looks to create ‘real world’ friendship group matches with Tinder Social

Tinder Social is now being tested with a small group of lucky love hunters in Australia, although the company said in a blog post it hopes to roll it out globally. The function allows groups of friends to band together and then meet other groups to head for a night out on the town/organise logistics for potential orgiastic swingers’ parties.

On the other hand, the new feature does simplify things for at least one group of people: self-identifying polyamorists. When using the app in “group mode”, you can swipe left or right on groups of chicks or blokes who are up for a joint hang the same way you would individuals.

Upon clicking “start a group” within the app, users are shown a list of their Facebook friends who are also on Tinder.

Tfw Tinder accidentally gives all of your friends (and urself) away with its “Tinder Social” brainwave.

Everyone in a group on Tinder Social must have their own Tinder account.

“I think many people might find it somewhat embarrassing and I think that there should have been a warning or an option to turn it on rather than just having your name out there for all your friends to see”, Tinder user Chloe Mac told Business Insider. The popular dating app is expanding beyond one-to-one matches and looking to connect groups.

But Tinder also has a reputation as a hook-up app – and some are suggesting that Tinder Social has some very X-rated applications.

It’s a way to go places full of people you’ve already matched with, making socialising so much easier once you’re out and about“, says Tinder.
