Are The New York Knicks Really Interested In David Blatt?

According to National Basketball Association rumors guru Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Jackson met with Blatt on Monday about the team’s coaching vacancy.
The New York Knicks are in the midst of the most important coaching search in franchise history.
The Israeli coaching legend was sacked by the Cavaliers in January after a cool relationship with LeBron James despite leading the club to the NBA Finals and the best record in the Eastern Conference. A close friend of Knicks GM Steve Mills, Blatt still remains a long shot to interim coach Kurt Rambis.
However, Rambis’ agents are also Jackson’s representatives. There also could be a scenario where Blatt joins the coaching staff as an assistant.
Blatt’s candidacy became significantly more intriguing with the news that he would be open to running the Triangle Offense.
Phil Jackson ponders who will be the next head coach of the Knicks. When it comes to those coaching candidates in his inner circle (the likes of Derek Fisher, Brian Shaw, Luke Walton and Kurt Rambis), Jackson probably likes that he can manipulate his way into pushing his influence and weight around. Jackson has been determined to continue to run his triangle offense, and Rambis has been a loyal disciple of the system. Jackson also spoke about the job with Golden State assistant Luke Walton, who let it be known that he’s not now interested.

However, the timesofisreal.com is reporting that the Lakers is also trying to get a meeting with Blatt for their head coaching job.
