Except for a brief period a year ago after a strong debate performance, the ex-HP CEO spent most of her time near the bottom of the crowded GOP presidential field, finally ending the campaign in February.
Her West Coast background and big-business credentials (despite a “disastrous record” at the helm of HP) ostensibly balance out Cruz’s Middle American, anti-cosmopolitan appeal.
Fiorina’s team said Monday that she was being vetted and going through the “standard stuff”, but a Fiorina spokesman on Tuesday did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
