Carly Fiorina just joined Ted Cruz’s campaign for the presidency!

Like both Trump and Cruz, Fiorina sought the Republican presidential nomination as an anti-establishment outsider but withdrew a day after a poor showing in the January 9 New Hampshire primary.

Fiorina dropped out of the presidential race after finishing seventh in the New Hampshire presidential primary on February 9.

“I think all would acknowledge that this race, if anything, is unusual”, he said, adding that no candidate will hit the needed 1,237 delegates to secure the nomination ahead of the July convention.

Mr Trump described his rival’s selection of Ms Fiorina as “ridiculous” and “dumb” before it was announced.

To that point, the conservative senator said: “Where we are now, the mainstream media. and the Washington lobbyists are all telling the American people the race is over”. Among Republican voters, 52 per cent have a favourable and 41 per cent have an unfavourable opinion of Cruz, while 53 per cent have a favourable and 46 per cent have an unfavourable opinion of Trump. Carly! Carly! Reporter: It’s his last ditch effort to stop Donald Trump and save his campaign.

He joked that Trump was picked by Hillary Clinton the Democratic front runner for her running mate.

Fiorina, while a presidential candidate herself, derided Cruz early this year on CNN for saying “whatever he needs to say to get elected” and she questioned the fact that he did not renounce his dual Canadian citizenship until 2014.

The former CEO of Hewlett-Packard was the Republican nominee in 2010 for the U.S. Senate in California, the state where 172 delegates will be up for grabs June 7.

Mr Cruz alluded to this exchange in introducing Mrs Fiorina in IN, saying she handled it with “grace and class”.

Cruz has recently lost to Trump in five primaries.
