A Texas grand jury has indicted ex-Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel on an assault charge after his ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic violence.

It’s now official; a grand jury has indicted Johnny Manziel.

The misdemeanor carries up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Fitch believes that Manziel has substance abuse issues. Crowley said she was still restrained as Manziel led her to the hotel’s valet, where she cried: “Please don’t let him take me”.

“He hit me with his open hand on my left ear for jumping out of the auto”, she wrote in her affidavit. Crowley said Manziel stopped when she tried to jump out of the vehicle, but then he dragged her back inside and hit her.

A protective order was signed at the beginning of February that prevents Manziel from seeing Crowley for two years.

Manziel’s attorneys said Tuesday that their client will plead not guilty.

Officials kicked the case over to a grand jury to determine if charges should be brought against Manziel – and moments ago, they officially handed down the charge. Lawyers watching the case have said that’s unusual. The case will now be assigned to a court in Dallas County where the parties are able to join the issue.

If Manziel decides against getting professional, help Finn thinks the gloves will come off, “If you don’t want to help yourself, we’re not going to help you and we’ll see what six jurors in Dallas County think about the case”.

Hinton called the prospects of a deal before trial unlikely, but added such discussions were premature.

“He put standard conditions”, said Shook.

Former NFL player Nathan Black, 37, was shot during an apparent robbery at a townhome complex in Baton Rouge early Monday morning.

Manziel, who won the Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M University in 2012, is now a free agent, having been dropped by the Browns in March. His replacement agent, Drew Rosenhaus, bailed last week after hearing the news of indictment.
