Leicester: Mahrez sets new PFA poll record
Leicester City players, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have dedicated their English football’s PFA awards to their teammates.

The 25-year-old French-born Algerian worldwide winger, outstanding in Leicester’s incredible charge towards the Premier League title, received the trophy at a lavish awards ceremony in London.
Danny Simpson is confident Riyad Mahrez will not drop off like PFA Player of the Year predecessor Eden Hazard, warning the best is yet to come from his Leicester teammate. France does not really excite me, I love England.
“I’m very grateful to receive this award – it’s a pleasure”. Indeed, you have to go all the way back to 2011 to find an EPL player on the world team of the year, two of them: Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney.
Mahrez and Kanté were dreaming at that point and briefly allowing their imaginations to run wild, yet with three league matches remaining the prospect of being crowned champions is close to becoming reality for the Leicester players. I think he had been saying all season that with three or four games to go he will tell us where we are.
Mahrez, who has ammased 17 goals and 11 assists this season, has praised the team’s fighting spirit for their fairytale campaign thus far.
The Foxes sealed a comfortable win to regain their eight-point advantage at the top of the table, but the late kick-off left them with little time to travel for the awards.
Pochettino, however, decided Alli was ready to be a first-team regular and the youngster has more than justified his manager’s faith, playing a leading role in Spurs’ surprise title challenge. “Without my team-mates I wouldn’t get this award”.
The 20-year-old beat team-mate Harry Kane to the prize, as well as Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland, Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho and Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley. Thank you for to everyone who voted for me.
